It’s Been A Week

Last Friday was my last day of the job I’ve had for a year. I’ve been doing similar work for two and a half. I could say that this past week has been an epiphany, or that I’ve learned something new, or that it’s been wild in whatever way. The truth is less flashy, but good, I think. I have been writing, working through the rewrite of what I have labeled the King Test, or more affectionately as of the past couple days, the Bastard Princess. I’ve been to the beach a couple times, finally took myself shooting for the first time, and got back into Krav Maga for my last couple weeks in Florida. Plus, I had the freedom to nap almost a whole day after Krav kicked my butt. It’s been good!

I will admit there have been some moments where the realization that I quit my job for a very different type of role has hit me. It hit me before I ever gave my notice. But it’s all for reasons and the reasons still stand: I want to apply more time to writing, spend more time in the outdoors, and try new and different experiences. To that end I have an interview/training in Georgia coming up in a couple months that, if it works out, will support all three of those goals! Stay tuned…

Just real quick, book 2 of the Chronicles of Hiraeth, Hiraeth’s Keeper, is in the final stages! I have sent it to a friend for proofreading and I should have something to work on come Monday. I’m hoping to post the summary and cover art in the next week or so.

In the meantime, I’ll plug the first book in the Chronicles of Hiraeth series, The Dream Thief’s Story:

Born of Hiraeth and Earth, Fae is keeper of a curse too few half-bloods are able to refuse—addiction to dreams. Caught in the act of dream thieving, her sentence is exile to the Nightmare Land: a deep, dark pit she is keen to avoid. So when she’s offered a dangerous task in lieu of her punishment, she jumps on it. In the process, she discovers Hiraeth in far more danger than imagined, ancient secrets long buried, and herself in the middle of it all.
